What is a fair severance package during layoffs? 1mon/yr? 2-3wk/yr? I have 10 years of service. I am considering leaving industry.

So what I'm reading are the responses of self important douche bags. Look at me, look at me. I bet you're the type of hipster douche that intentionally leaves the lights on in your Porche so the restaurant announces there's a Porche with the lights on. You act embarrassed, but are glowing inside because all the attention is on you. I'm quite certain that noone, other than you, gives two f—s about what you have and how cool you think you are. So take your $2mm in assets and choke on them. Deep and hard. Kind of like Foy in Million Ways to Die. Do you j–koff while continually telling yourself how cool you are?
I do have to say that response directly before this response was a good.
What is fair? How about $0 weeks pay. You say you worked at CVX for ten years. That means you got ten years pay. Plus bonuses (a few of those were very good years), insurance, 401k contributions, pension contributions, and many other benefits that are way more generous than most other companies. You are not owed anything more. Take anything they give you with a smile (because anything greater than $0 is way for than fair) and figure out what you are going to do in your next step in life.
I don’t want to get laid off. But if I do, I’ll have well over a million in liquid assets and no debt. So I’ll make the best of the situation. And I’m under 40 and every penny of assets came from saving and investing, having began working at the company in debt. I’m really glad I didn’t live beyond my means and buy expensive cars and homes and boats.
You can tell who is insecure about their jobs with the comments. I wouldn't worry about layoffs, it's a gift. Only those that can't manage their money at home are sensitive of the topic. 3 weeks isn't uncommon.
Everyone in Chevron knows exactly what is on the table. Piss off troll.
Dude go somewhere else. You are not even close to being a Chevron employee...scram with your dumba$$ questions
