Does anyone know what our Contractor to Employee ratio is. I know at one time, last ROM we were very low but I did see some admin and some technical staff contractors. With that said we have been increasing the amount of green badges. Not sure what groups these people are in but you see them in the hallways and it’s been increasing. Why is it that Exxon and Shell cut all contractors before even getting the axes out to cut employees. Just feels wrong to me that we have groups that keep contractors while we lay-off people getting paid half as much who are employees of the company.

You sound like a Night DSM
@2ynh+15mcoh9N You answered yourself, in a sense. Would you agree? Not all DSM/LDSM, are employees.
Sorry to butt in. Not the OP. I agree employees and contractors are all people. Just curious who are all contractors on the drill ships. The rig contractor are all employees of the rig owner the service hands are all employees of the service company. There are some (not all) dispatchers and some safety people who are contractors but I though all the field engineers and DSR, LDSR are employees.

I hope you bring that state of mind to the drillship, and you will be humbled really quickly.
Modern day slavery
Contractors and Employees are both people. There are times where contractors yield more value than employees.
