Got the (Call) and glad to be thought of but if I’d have to do it over the first thing I’m suggesting you ask before any other words are said is..
What are my options?? If I say no at this time will I be called back at all?...when and if the time comes.
Is the company going to lay off any furloughed employees in my store??
Or are you going to bring everybody back??
Is it a mandatory return at this time???
Is this and most probably because of that state government mandate on reopening that only a limited number of workers return at this time??
If I’m uncomfortable because of how I feel about Covid 19 I can say no.
Again bottom line I wasn’t afforded a choice I was just Asked if I wanted to return.
I’ve would have just stayed home and collected my unemployment with the government assistance money and waited it out.
I feel that management should be more informative and up front about what should be a very important..Choice for my health and well-being

to below, pretty sure this is stores-related post, corporate can WFH until September without going into office.
Can you explain any further regarding todays announcement? I'm corporate (NYC) under creative. I do work for the online photography. Its hard to tell if you are referring to stores or corporate, clearly I'm on edge & would greatly appreciate if anyone had guidance to help me make sense of what is going on.
This is round 2. You don't return, most likely there will be nothing to return to at another time. Your first callback, you don't have to return. But on the 2nd call back, it's either yes or no.
Those called back for the first time, I strongly advise you to return.
Considering the news today of major cuts (confirmed with VPSM) you’d be unemployed I’m two weeks.
Friends and Family PRESALE? NOPE!
No presale this year. It's signed and live NOW. Someone at your store made a big mistake. Use the code FRIEND. It's LIVE in Macys.com too.
was told if I didnt go back next week, I could LoA for 2 weeks and then either go back or be considered abandoning the job
why didn't you ask those questions?......... I sure did when I was called back and made the decision it was best to come back.
OP... are you hourly, or salaried? Full-time, or part?
We have a new store manager maybe not quite 30 yet. No people skills at all. Told all of the support team that if they don’t like the new schedule they are free to find another job. We are a great team with most of us with 10, 20 or 30 years of service. No respect for the value and contribution we provide day in and day out. So hurtful to be so easily dismissed. I guess you get what you pay for.
Touche... Management is only out for the numbers and never for the well being of their staff. My first day back on the job today and all I got was tomorrow we begin out Friends and Family presale! Here's your daily target. Start calling your clients! Oh and by the way, Welcome back!
You're so right about this. Say what you want about this site, the only reason I knew to question the store manager was bc of what I read here. They shamefully lie by omission and count on associates being ignorant.
