Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Loyalty and tenure mean nothing. Don’t fool yourself like i did.

Worked there 24 years with excellent Performance and die hard commitment Was let go with zero thanks other than the corporate jargon ... we thank you for your service blah blah blah. Hard life lesson. Wish I had learned it earlier. They claim they care about their people. They do, until they have to care about the bottom line more. They cut high performers who actually do work before they cut obnoxious executives who should have never been promoted to leadership. And promote more of the same. No. Thanks.

To the person who continues to blame leadership on bad attitudes, it appears you have no accountability for any areas you need to improve. Like I said, on my team the people who were cut, didnt do what was asked, didnt meet metrics and no one on my team questioned anyone who was riffed. So, hate the layoffs but no one was shocked on who was let go. If your "friends" disagree or previous leaders, they are being nice as they feel bad for you. If your manager never provided feedback on where you need to be better, then you are right, they need to go too. Loyalty and tenure is irrelevant. Bad attitudes, unwillingness to change, not meeting activities will get you wfr. If you were so miserable at the company, you should have left on your own accord.

For you posting about folks with bad attitudes. You are very mistaken, the deplorable attitudes are the front line managers, the managers and the so call sr managers. These folks have no experience whatsoever in managing people. They could never find a job anywhere else doing what they do. They are two faced and will stab you in the back immediately. They play both sides of the fence and you never know where you stand. If the employees have a so called bad attitude it is a reflection on the poor management that is in place.

It’s still happening but not as much. I was let go in Q1 but a colleague was just let go.

Sorry you were cut. The people who were cut around me were people with bad attitudes, were not bought in and didnt do what was asked.

Did any of this happen, this week/this month, or was this all back early in the year in the storage reshuffle and and EOFY? Which divisions and countries? There are no Corona related mass layoffs that anyone has heard about.

Same experience of 10 plus years. Regardless of how successful you are, if you aren’t liked by upper management, they will push you out. Get the severance and smile. So many better tech companies out there and your talent is needed

To the person claiming fake news, are you aware of everything and everyone in the company and what is currently transpiring? I doubt it, it's not fake news, there were layoffs yesterday 6/10/20.

Same here, 23 years of loyalty and hard work. A lot of useless plexiglass Sales MVP awards and certificates on ever-changing smaller cubicles and now a kick in the rear ...
