Any news on percentages or number of jobs eliminated etc? And when it will take effect.
Thanks

I haven't worked in Olathe for years, but there can't be anyone left that are easy targets, other than the (few) technical folks left who know what is going on, and whatever manufacturing floor people left, who know what is going on. It is a delusion of management that all U.S. employees are "widgets" and can be easily replaced by a cheap know-nothing from domestic, or abroad.
How does @1fsy get a down vote? Really, Olathe has been the butt of the company for so long, how many people are left and what is happening to the business there.
This is a question asking for facts. How can asking a question get dinged???
I mean no disrespect, but how can there be anyone left in Olathe to lay off? That poor place has been sunsetting for so long, there can’t be any blood left to squeeze?
It’s ironic, Honeywell is worried about quality escapes-loose,missing screws etc.
The stress from how they are going about it like SS troops is gonna have a effect on the quality levels
If they were worried about quality they could see what tensions and nervousness they have unduly created.
I have been working here for a couple months and it’s been great until the first round of layoffs. Now I work by myself with little to no help and it’s just been hell. Working in constant fear of not knowing I will have a job in a week or a couple months is taking a toll. I am heavily considering just volunteering and taking my chances elsewhere.
Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technology located in Kansas City MO. 35 miles east from Cedar Creek.
Where is the other Honeywell location in the area that’s hiring?
If it follows the pattern of the last month it will go something like this:
- On Monday june15th The people who would take a voluntary reduction in force have to have their application in.
- Over the next two weeks legal will vet the list which will be a combination of the VIF and in IVRIF candidates.
- Before the end of the fiscal second quarter at least 50 people will be handed their pink sheets and shown the door.
I don’t work there anymore but I know this process like the back of my hand. There’s only about 500 people in Olathe so 50 people is a 10% RIF. You all should know there is another Honeywell in the area and they’re hiring. Good luck, God bless and stay away from the SAP super user he/her is going to be busy!
