Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

POTUS and FB have something in common

They love generals and they love ignoring them.

I love what Gen. McC. said today at Forum about helping veterans by enabling remote work where they live (their hometown). That's a meaningful, good idea not just for them, but everyone!

But I know that that is antithetical to everything FB believes in re: remote work and "work ethic."

I was really turned off by the gimmicky "I'm up at 3:30 a.m" bit between him and Jeff. Such unhealthy, machismo silliness. I'm glad it works for him, but it doesn't impress or inspire anyone. Why does it matter? It doesn't. When and where and how long we work don't count – what we accomplish for our clients does. And candidly, the divestment in people and systems I've seen over the past two months are a lot more poignant on that front than a bootcamp-style sleep schedule.

My clients know and feel that. They are ignored and let down time and time again because they don't matter. Revenue does.

The contrast between an acomplished, humble, compassionate, open leader in McCrystal and FB is staggering.

I hope FB proves me wrong. But, like the former POTUS, he'll let ideas and people that rub him wrong go.

Just like Gen McC was.

Objectively how can you not appreciate what first data pulled off. Now OFS may have been a little asleep at the wheel to have allowed it to happen, it’s still quite a feat

People are packing up their sh– for better opportunities, as this ship is rebuilt for better or worse. As far as the comment about being able to compete. The OFS teams did far more with far less. I have yet to see truly great, and inspiring ideas coming from the new OFD management, and all i have seen is more process, new gadgets, increased busy work, a lack of motivation from staff, and people working more hours due to fear of losing their job due to spyware/monitoring. The un-written rule, if you are working only 40 hours a week, then you aren't working enough, and you will be let go regardless of thought. So i would encourage people to look for new opportunities.

Exactly OFS is whiney. You can’t compete and you’ll be gone in 3 months. New sheriff in town

Quit. No one is forcing you to work here if you hate it so much. Sack up, put your notice in and walk away and be a happier person.

Oh, is Forum going on right now? Amazing how when you leave Fiserv you don’t give a @&#$ anymore.
