Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

The worst possible time to be laid off

Any other time I'd be happy to accept a severance - no matter what it turns out to be - and leave this place. I wouldn't worry about layoffs one bit.

But not now. With who knows how many millions of people out of work, many of them in our industry, finding a job will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

I'm not just worried, I'm petrified of losing my job right now. I'll always regret not leaving when I had the chance...

There is a lot of tech job out there but companies are getting picky as there is more supply than demand. Need more than work experience at Allstate to get you the next job in tech. Better be prepared. Cut the fat in management, who biggest achievement is talking loud and rude. How will they run the company if they only managers left. No company in today’s tech world is fool to keep laying off tech people, management is the dead weight.

Assuming you work in the tech industry - are you actually worried about finding a job right now in this client? Basically every tech company is expanding like crazy & going fully remote, if you have the skills you'll be picked up in a week. You'll be fine.
