Separation package has mentioned age and time of service to receive 401k match. Does anyone know how it works or just forget it .

@pju

Usually your years with an acquired company do NOT count.

On 401K match for those who retire officially (15 years and 55+) it may show up before December. I think mine showed up after a couple of months (RA class of 2019). Be sure to check the Fidelity portal periodically.

21sf. I believe you have to be employed, OR retired. If you retire during the year, IBM does match

You have to be EMPLOYED on Dec 31 to get the match, which happens around the first couple of days in Jan.

Lay-off date :05/21/2020
After 19 years with IBM
Age 62

You'll get your match in December like everyone else. I believe your match will be up until the time you left.

Do years with a company acquired by IBM count?

If you officially retire they should match. To retire you used to need to be in the year you turn 55 or older AND have 15 years with the company.
