Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo CEO vitrual summit 7/21

Here is what was laid out in the conference call with the CEO and CFO:

  1. Projected to cut $10 Billion starting prior to year end 2020 over multiple phases.
  2. Risk/Control only departments safe from cuts.
  3. Unknown number of job cuts at this time.
  4. Management restructuring needed and noted to be top heavy.
  5. CFO retiring, no date given.

Anything else posted saying otherwise is speculation and not to be trusted unless names are named. Take care of yourself/family, prepare and hope for the best.

The Suggestion Box could be a game changer for WF if they do it right.

The "leadership" needs to seriously listen to what the people closest to the work are saying. Example: yesterday our group was told of a decision directly impacting us that was made with ZERO input from anyone less than 6 management levels above us. The decision made was absurd.

Hopefully the Suggestion Box won't simply be another "Idea Builder".

Yeah, he said this won’t impact our risk and control commitments- that doesn’t mean no cuts in that area. There’s lots of inefficiencies in the risk areas due to complicated and redundant structures that need to be fixed. Also third party spend is insane

Michael Scott at Dunder Mifflin had a suggestion box. It’s brilliant

First, thanks to the supremely helpful trolls who down voted my question without answering it. Now that I have seen it myself, I know it’s real.

The “suggestion box” program is likely to be very serious business. Something very similar was done at a competitor, not Chase.

For that program, you could choose to be part of the solution, or you could sit around and mock it and lose your job. It saved that company billions, which is what is needed here.

No one knows better about broken technology and processes than the people who have to deal with it. Given how much stuff is broken here, it’s way past time for an initiative like this.

Audit is starting to get fairly understaffed and lean as is... people are running for the hills as the new audit leadership team is...

Well you know where that’s going LOL

No one is being back filled...

Which Chase Executive will be managing the Suggestion Box Program? Head of Employee Suggestions. Has a nice ring to it.

I didn't hear the same thing as you on #2. I heard nothing is going to get in the way of resolving regulatory issues but that doesn't mean risk/control won't take a hair cut. Probably won't be as brutal as mortgage, branches, and other areas but there is going to be some shared pain & anguish in risk/control.
