Past two days have been horrible at RVD Honeywell, So many good people let go. The lab has been demolished, operations is cut so slim. This is horrible for everybody involved.

Oh, did I hit a nerve junior? Let me repeat. UOP is filled with useless middle manager types in an old boy network. Just like most engineering firms, it's mostly white dudes.
And I resigned from UOP many years ago and moved to a better industry. Now I'm making great money and work for a really good firm.
Every Uop thread I see if filled with veiled racism. Maybe you got riffed because you are garbage?
Does UOP still have a bloated middle management structure, with hundreds of middle aged white dudes raking in the money and being protected by the good old boy network?

I worked for UOP in the good old days, but once the GE cohort came along it the writing was on the wall for me, and acquisition by Honeywell put the final nail in the coffin. Used to be a great company in the 90s, bur I'm glad I left and changed careers. Wondering where the axe fell hardest though. Was management affected at all? Even while I was there, UOP had a very bloated management structure.
I am not terribly familiar with UOP, since I (at least so far) am in PMT. Leadership talks about pivoting to promising business opportunities. They say to be nimble and act like a start up. Honesty what a bunch of c-ap. I don’t think anyone could foresee COVID, but anyone could see the shift from fossil fuels that is happening and will only pick up speed. Only after COVID did I see some half-baked presentation on Renewables. Why wasn’t this in full pivot years ago? Apparently, Darius’ TV antenna blew off his garage and he missed all this. My blood boils every time I hear the nimble and start up babbling. Let’s all be nimble and follow the SEAs. I have to seek three or four levels of approvals each time I need to do something and each level is further away from understanding what is going on. That some freaking awesome startup maneuver right there.
How many out of Tulsa got cut? I can’t imagine the office stays open any longer here...
There were more VRIF and INVRIF's at all UOP sites this week. Based on earnings call, 500M has been saved thus far-still need more to keep that stock price propped up. More RIF's to come.
This is not the end of it. Looking at Honeywell's guidance for 3rd quarter in the earnings call, I can tell more heads will be rolling around in the next few months...they only saved 500 million so far...so expect another 500 million worth of cost cutting....especially in Aero and PMT (so ofcourse UOP as well). SAD.
Once again I'll offer my condolences to the UOP people who are affected here. Reading the UOP posts over the past weeks sounds so much like what AiResearchers would have said, except that we were s—ed up by Allied Chemical and ex-GE "management." Either way, you fall into the same cohort as the old red Honeywell people and the AiResearch people, and who knows how many other successful companies that the beast has devoured.

How many has it been total across all the RIFs? Seems like 50% of UOP must be gone by now.
Yes this was one of the worst I have seen. I was one of the lucky ones to stay but, watching people get walked out the last two days was heartbreaking. Also seeing guys work all night only to be walked out in the AM was cruel.
Was wondering if something was going on since the Research parking lot at Des Plaines had a lot of cars but the rest of the campus is still closed.... everyone packing up their belongings
Sorry to hear it, but if you have been watching all around you in Honeywell—- this is normal. I loved UOP, until HON took over in 2006. Every year it got a bit worse until I was laid off this year after 35 years with the company. At least I saw it coming well in advance and took plenty of vacation
I will miss my fellow UOP employees but won’t miss the leadership of Honeywell for a minute.
