Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Heroes Act Covid

How come Honeywell isn’t signing up for the heroes act?? Anyone who’s been working deemed “essential” is entitled to receive that stimulus but the employer has to apply. It’ll retro back to Jan 27th and extra $13/hr (up to $10,000). Lots of companies are doing it especially if you’re going out in the field or to a building you are at risk of contracting Covid. The government is paying it out it’s not like Honeywell has to do anything out of the goodness of their hearts. Super markets and stores have their employees an extra $2-$3 and hour out of their own pockets yet Honeywell won’t sign up for a government package.

Copy/Paste the link into your browser for info on the Heroes Act.

@qyo is correct: The heroes act bill has only been approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate will not approve it as written. Both political parties are still arguing about what's going to happen with it.

Just like he did for those folks when he was neck deep in decizions to outsource deer valley to penang all those years ago...and redmond to bintan, and torrance to mexico, and advanced tech to brno, and tucson to celestica, and toronto to celestica, and..... hmmm seems to be a trend here..,i wonder why they hired a guy who made a career on sending US jobs overseas as president of aero....i wonder.

H does care. It’s their stated goal protect the headcount. A program like would incentivize the headcount not to leave H. So, they’re trying hard to participate.

How is this not clear by now?

@xgr
That was for the PPP loans. This is for hazard pay ,not whether they lay people off or not. This will be part of next bill and hopefully they do apply to show appreciation.

I thought that you couldnt receive any monies from the government if you were going to layoff or furlough employees?? could this be why they havent applied for it

Correct me if I am wrong, but that has not passed yet? I can imagine the serious backlash Honeyhole will receive if it does pass with the next stimulus package and they opted out for hazard pay. That would be a media sh*tstorm and possible legal action. People risking their health for the company should not be left out, especially considering it isn’t coming out of their coffers! We will make sure they are held accountable when the bill passes.

It is just disgusting that these people aren't even trying to hide the fact that they just DO NOT care about any of their "associates". Honeywell is a laughing stock.

If it only benefits employees and not Honeywell, they're not interested. But always remember: HON employees are the most valuable asset.
