Let's go down the list, one by one and see how much of this is true.
•Hand sanitizer available- Yes
•Masks required- NOPE– not enforceable by employees or managers
•Increased cleaning in high touch areas- Well, if you consider 1 person in a Macy's apron going around with a spray bottle and paper towels "increased cleaning", then sure.
•Social distancing- NOPE! I laugh at that one.
•Colleagues completing wellness checks- NOPE– the only time my store ever did them correctly was when a guy from corporate was standing over them with a laptop. Everyone was confused and though there was an outbreak
•Gloves to be worn by BOH teams- Sometimes, but again not enforceable
•Plexiglass at checkouts- half true. Not every register has plexi, yet as the store gets busier, we're forced to ring on the ones that don't.
•Increased air ventilation in all stores- NOPE. ABSOLUTELY NOT. OUTRIGHT LIE. I've been in my store for many years and I have NEVER felt it so uncomfortable, you can feel the humidity and sweat in the air as soon as you walk in.
Macy's. Safety second.
