They are actually moving many to other less desirable positions at a reduction in pay up to 10% to avoid severance payouts as much as possible. They are quite open in the position that if they are going to pay people anything that they are going to get work and production out of them. And I really do think that they are targeting short tenure employees as less than a year gets no severance and only two weeks per year (as far as we know at the moment, they love to change the rules as we recently saw). This is to be done as cheap and with as little paid out to the affected laid off people as it can. And this arrogant company would have to see a TON of bad press to go as far as to pay out any more than they already have to.
