Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Poof !! and it's gone

What happened to the post about the state of the industry in Aberdeen, as having lived in Aberdeen what happens there still holds some interest but the jurors who run this site have deleted it. Freedom of speech doesn't apply to this site !!!!

Everyone wants their severance pay and bonus. Don't wait too long, WFT has already gone through bankruptcy and financial restructuring 1 year ago and will have a hard time doing it again. Be careful not to end up working for free.

I’m just holding on in hopes of getting my severance pay. Managment s—s, they don’t support field operations. All they worry about is their bonuses and sales department s—s to!

I agree with ALS also, been there seen it and done it !!! Loyalty runs in the family and your buddies who you are "obliged" to !!!

Agree with ALS. Everyone needs to make their own decision based upon their individual circumstances. My decision for my situation is to stay either until I change my mind or they red-line me. When I do go I will walk away and not look back. My decision will not be the right one for everyone.

However, if you stay, be real and understand that loyalty / skill / length of service / attitude will count for nothing when the red pen comes out. You will be viewed as a cost which is either necessary or can be eliminated and that will decide your fate.

I wouldn't worry much as your destiny will be defined elsewhere. When bills become due Corporate will have the list of heads and product lines to hit to meet the cost reduction requirements. ONE Weatherford means anyone can and will be cut if required. If you can handle it stay. If not, move on.
Been there, seen it, been part of it and done it. I moved on as sick and tired of firing good people who had no control of their own future.

Oh, I beg your pardon for mentioning a specific Weatherford location but if you care to have a look through this board you will see numerous references to Weatherford locations in the USA. One Weatherford, don't make me laugh !!!!!

Where all in the US?

Whoa - that's a real friendly post there! So - it's fine to post about some locations but not others? If you check the Q2 results it would seem that Eastern Hemisphere is doing just a shade better than the US.

In response to the OP - I haven't seen many GB terminations so no mass closures yet. Not the same story however for other countries unfortunately - Saturday had a serious batch of USA / CAN terminations so not good news there.

This is not an Aberdeen board, this is a Weatherford board. That post didn't belong here and neither does this one. I hope it gets removed soon. I'm so tired of people posting off topic stuff as we're trying to figure out if we'll still have a job in a few days or weeks.
