It’s a good thing don’t get me wrong. There will be hiring, but they just slashed thousands of jobs just last year. Does anyone really have a plan for long term in Dallas?

Yes, The build out is happening. It will be an overlay in existing neighborhoods (brownfield) they say four years but they will push to do it like c-ap in two. Push for lots of overtime that turns into a mismanaged moneygrab that ends up with a substandard product that needs more maintenance and support than it should. I’m looking forward to my share.

Lol, me and hundreds of other techs in the SE were surplused out of construction in the last year. If they do hire any OPT’s and FT’s, they will just be term employees that won’t be hired on for more than a couple of years.
Ha Ha ... good luck with that ... I was surplussed out of construction before a big fiber build last time, it meant nothing.
Splicers won't have jack to do with 5G and how much more plug and play stuff are they going to run in the cities anyway if people aren't buying it?

1-Gross negligence
2- mismanagement.
3-Ghost projects.
I have heard the same thing. That C/E budget that was previously being allocated to 5G build out is being restored for fiber build out.
Stankey rightly smells trouble in wall to wall 5g,just deploy it where it makes sense, the cities. fiber overlay is cheap and easy, designed that way and using copper infrastructure thats already there. fttp is and always will be the gold standard.
Plan is to fill their pockets with cash before jumping ship.
