All the stressing in the past several months has pushed my blood pressure through the roof. I'm not sleeping well, I'm not eating well... I honestly think quitting and just getting a job flipping burgers would be better for me right now than this place. Who'd have thought a few years ago that Burger King would look like a better alternative to AT&T..

What do you have to do to survive at AT&T is learn to not care & keep your mouth shut...do enoughto stay off the radar,do your time and get out! Yes they pay well and you can make a lot on overtime,but eventually even the money isn’t worth it!! Once you leave and if you’re lucky enough to retire like I did I never thought about the T again the day after I left and I felt so much better mentally and physically! Whether you ignore their stupid rules and way of doing business for year after year it takes it’s toll on you! You just get to a tipping point & can’t take it anymore. If you’re younger & you can find another job Do it fast and getting out of there will save your sanity in the long run. :)
You are correct, I knew my body was going down fast, they came in with a sipp offfer and I took it 41 years- enough is enough.
I've been saying that to work for AT&T for the last 25 years has been bad for a great number of peoples health. I really got bad around 2007, and progressively worse since. It is directly due to the toxic and poisonous work environment that they have created, from the top down, and the bottom up. It can't be fixed, costs cut awayed, surplused, nothing will fix this deadly stew they've cooked up.
Our group has been running with about 75% of the headcount that we really need and with this last round of cuts they said "good news! no cuts for your team this time but group Z is gone now and all of their work is now yours. "
It's just too much now.... Screw the "good pay." I am actively looking for something a bit more sane.

to all the shills saying it is the same at other companies. total bs - I have been to two fortune 500 companies since I left and the environments were totally different and I enjoyed both places. Made more money at both places than I did at att. Hey and guess what everyone on my team gets to work from home even before the virus. I mean everyone not just the chosen few. att is a nightmare and I hope anybody thinking of going there runs and never look back there are tons of much better companies to work for and get more money and work on better technology.

You must do only what you feel is right for you. Either manage the stress, of just leave, and enjoy other stresses at other employers.
Your working at a publicly traded corporation. It will be the same on the other side of the fence. Do your job. Nothing more nothing less and go home and enjoy your life. Leave AT&T at AT&T and enjoy your personal time!
No doubt about it! There’s constant realignment in my org placing L1& L2 managers with no experience in the business function having to lead teams of employees . Consequently, they’re constantly trying to reinvent the wheel and reducing employee morale! Implementing changes that aren’t across the board nationally, but only in their state. It’s ridiculous and unnecessary! There is too much dissension within the company which can cause a multitude of disastrous outcomes!
If it is effecting your health you should look to make a change, but remember it is just a job, AT&T pays you a good wage for work, no job is guaranteed so you always should be prepared for something if it happens, but best approach is do your job, collect your pay and live your life. Don't think it is much different anywhere else, I did and left AT&T to find out it really is the same at other places,
