Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Member Specialist

Copied this another post...

So what does this all mean. Self check, exit door, club pickup, sell plus, prevent shrink, have your own override numbers, train new cashiers/desk, really sell members on scan n go, sell plus, and anything else you team lead or manager needs done. In fact, it's one step below team members, so when team members are off, you will be expected to step into their shoes and do their job.

Supposedly these are the duties of the "member specialist". So can someone answer this question? Why would this be offered to cashiers/membership people first? And why would they put people w/less than six months on the job in these spots? Very unfair to other employees who may want to move and make more money also.

I was told this was for cashiers only the first round, but the put a dispenser into one of these spots and this person has zero cashier experience. Wow is all I can say.

Well as a long time associate I ready to be shown the door and draw unemployment. I sick of their c-ap and all the lies.

what I don't get is they are offering these jobs to people in our club who have been there less than six months. And get this one guy has never run a register, really what a kick. What ever happened to the rule that you could not move for six months after getting hired? The only reason I found about the raises and the member specialist is through this blog. This is a total joke.

They may allow the front to put in for the member specialist first. They don't have to hire from this group. If they don't find "good, qualified candidates," the positions will be opened to everyone else.

It's the Sam's/Walmart way. I won't get too specific because I will be called racist. When in fact it has been reverse racism for the last 5 to 10 years! Shame on this company! Anyone else feeling it?

Once they finish eliminating manager positions they want everyone trained to do all that. More responsibility for everyone. Less pay to do more. They're just planting the seeds with the appearance of this so called massive raises. The ultimate goal is for all new hires to be conditioned and expected to do everything and then long term employees 3 or more years get shown the door.

Our club is hiring cashiers on a daily basis instead of letting others know they have open positions. I know there is 3 merchandisers that are interested in going to the frontend.
