Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Suddenly blocked using Nike IP address

Anyone else suddenly getting a denial when trying to access this site from your Nike computer? Me suspects that our esteemed leadership has wised up to our dirty little secret here...?

CIS monitors everything you do on your computer and logs it - not in Excel but in the cloud where it's kept for 7 years. They also monitor your mobile phone activity if you installed the MDM apps. It is highly searchable in the event it needs to be and kicks off reports that have AI built-in to "predict" any potential issues. Acting on any of it is at the discretion of your manager, HR, ER or anyone who wants to find any reason at all to let you go. That being said, a lot of big companies do this too - they just don't seem to weaponize it against their employees like this one seems to.

Fwiw so you're all aware, if you're browsing the internet from your Nike imaged PC. ZScaler logs all sessions outbound to the internet, there's of course filtering in place for the no no stuff but don't be naive to think that your traffic is not monitored. Any Internet bound session done traverses the ZScaler proxy from your internal Nike IP address and is logged with your AD account ID and MAC address of the NIC your trafficking out on. Hold no expectations of privacy with what you do on your work machine.

Just don’t act like monitoring involves some person staring at a computer monitor or has anything to do with Excel. There is automated software and reporting that makes it super simple...

Yeah, let's not conflate monitoring with documenting... there is a big difference between logging our activity and actually actively monitoring. I am not an id–t.. I am well aware that my activities (i.e. web sites) are being logged in the event that an HR issue may come up at some point... but there is a large body of water between this and actually proactively watching my activities. As the previous poster says, we are not in a dictatorship, and if Nike has the time and feels the necessity to actually watch thousands of good employees' daily activities, then we have much larger problems.

You guys act like Nike has endless amounts of time to do an excel dump of everything that views this site and fire them.

I worked for a health care employer who expects you to be working the entire time (starts with an 'A') and literally the moment you went "astray", say to espn for 5 minutes, your manager would get notified and be told not to do this again. I've also known people to get FIRED for shopping during Cyber Monday. But what can I say, some companies like to be super micromanaging.

We don't live in a dictatorship, but I do advise to discretion, Nike isn't afraid to fire you if you start posting unethical stuff.

You guys are silly. CIS does not monitor your activity on this site.

Getting fired is going to be trouble when you try to land your next job.

@otp - Did you really not think your internet was being monitored? It’s simply a set of internet addresses that have been blacklisted - anyone that navigates to those sites is recorded. Try going to the website for the brand with 3 stripes from your Nike laptop...

How could you be this naive?

if you're looking at other companies' sites, who's more likely to be a troll here? I assume that you are implying that I don't work for Nike? Do you want me to tell you what the home page of Zero shows right now? (main story as of this post is currently about Kobe btw) Any other way I can anonymously prove to you that I'm just a terrified employee already stressed enough without having to worry that my internet is now being monitored?

Did no other Nike employees experience this?

Never use your work computer! They monitor all activities, just many often they don't care.

Troll. This same question was asked on another company’s site. Don’t engage.

There's a reason that there are many hundreds (thousands?) of us out here.. it's not because we are bad employees who spend our days surfing the internet.... it's because we're all feeling ill-informed, helpless, and exceptionally anxious. As @llo said, they should expect this.

I guess I’m naive since I’ve been visiting this site on my work computer too... but what’s the problem with visiting if you’re just looking for info and NOT contributing to some of the more toxic comments that sometimes get posted?

Surely Nike can understand that people will search for answers elsewhere when they are given none? This is our livelihood!

OP! Were you born last week? Why are you on this site from your work computer? On the other hand please use you official email as the name here.
