Will cost cutting come from the top? No more being chauffeured to a private elevator to a private wing on the third floor in Las Colinas? Seems we have plenty of space on the Campus and an intense need for alignment with management on our path out of the current business issues. Maybe they forgo their salaries as well until prices recover? Would be an opportunity to show leadership in a time of a financial and health crisis.

And cutting employees 401k match also pales in comparison to dividend payment.
Zero chance Dallas HQ is sold. The $150M a sale would bring in pales in comparison to the magnitude of the dividend.

@nsx, I've heard that rumor too, there are two missing buildings and one missing parking garage on campus after all... but rumor has it hq went to Dallas to avoid the day-to-day churn of Houston, so ... Having said that, pretty soon they may not have a choice, the entire company everywhere will struggle to fit in emhc ...

I was told a few years ago by someone that now works for DW that the Dallas move to Houston campus was not if but when. They even mentioned the land on campus where the building for Dallas folks would be built.

I that case, there might be room for at least one of them to spend Quality Time on campus.

With everything Dallas is going to the rank and file I would think they would be too cowardly to come to Spring and risk meeting someone negatively impacted by their “risk management” face to face

The open campus was the most ridiculous idea. Several companies that used this concept with regrets talked about how it was destroying their companies. It’s a struggle to work, focus or even get a phone call in. The first year on campus I thought it would be nice to see over the next couple years how much productivity goes up or down. And...here we are
If those guys are moving to the campus from Dallas, it will be nice if they follow the collaborative environment and assigned an open cubicle.
Did we really need a consulting company to come in and tell us we needed to learn to save money and work together. I’m no one important but says this ten years ago. If you need to pay someone to say it you have too many managers with really bad attitudes. Bullies
Say what you will about management consulting, but their advice is typically “when you interview for a job look for the CEOs office, the bigger it is and farther it is from the actual employees will tell you how fast to run for the door.” Maybe it wasn’t bad mba Mumbo Jumbo after all!

The kick was that the Japanese employees were mad at her after that and they didn't speak a word to her for months.
They bypassed the hierarchy when they gave the "honor" to her instead of those with seniority, experience.
The chosen one was of course anglo, not local.

She is a manager of PG&A now, and none of the oddities in the story seem to register to her as reflection of a messed up corporate culture.

I was in a meeting for new hires once where one of these lackeys, who craves approval from the top, told us about her most proud moment at her job organizing and welcoming Rex' wife to Japan and giving her a first class tour. Paid for by the company, of course. Why she was there or what the business value of it was never answered.
