The next time retail offer severance packages. I will probably sign immediately! I assume another cut is around the corner.

Nah, that's not true. They've had a handful of rounds of layoffs in the last 13 years. I'm have been in retail about that long and have changed positions twice, not counting this round, because of layoff/voluntary severance offers. There have been others in other channels as well. From what I hear they will be cutting back more sm's next go around.

If I was in Retail again with all this c-ap happening, I would use up all of the PluralSight, VZlearn, LinkedIn learning for free to learn other technology like CompTIA A+, Network+, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, secruity certs, etc. and then I would go apply somewhere else or within. Use your resources while you're Verizon. I just got 2 Salesforce certs during the pandemic and if Verizon offers me a severance package, I'm out.

Come on Verizon ! Offer severence to all frontline store employees that have been with the company
10 plus year's to 3 weeks of pay and 1 year of benefits for the transition!! Not the 35 weeks you're offering only for stores that have excess head count. What about store employees that work in store that dont have an excess Most! Most of us will jump!

I try not to think about it. I was in the perfect position tenure to take the work from home. I just didn't have the guts to do it. I kick my self every day after for not doing it. I'm literally motivated to work as least as possible now and just kiss the customers a– to get a good survey all while navigating a system that was made by monkeys trying to keep their job and stay relevant. When you make a system that your work around is not to use that system.. then don't roll it out. At least has the gall to be like hey this is Alpha/Beta things might not work, report is and we will look. Instead of having us beta test a broken system while we get paid on surveys. Part of me just wants to ride this dumpster fire of inept leaders (ones way out side of the store or district) to just see what happens and to say that I made it through.

Yeah the only way in retail is if they cut staff or your store. I would assume if they make cuts it’ll be to sms not reps

There are a lot of people who feel the same. Sadly I think it is unrealistic to think that another voluntary offer is in the cards. Remember, it had been 13 years since they offered something similar.
