Before COVID-19 is through with us, I believe there will be large layoffs everywhere. This fall is going to be bad, double whammy with flu and COVID, hospitals will be heavily loaded, people will go nowhere and buy nothing, companies will layoff.

SF is a great throat cutter. She is smart, pops up that Excel spreadsheet and plays with where to cut.

SFDC understands how American capitalism works and knows how to manage growth for Wall Street investors; at the mercy of its employees...

The point may be the stock bump.
Watch for insiders selling off.

It's quite possible that their meteoric growth is coming to an end, so it's time to unload employees that they won't be needing anymore.

Companies that are going through rapid growth are usually the best places to work. Big raises, bonuses, stock options that have non trivial payoffs, and no layoffs. But when the growth suddenly stalls, it's like someone flips a switch. Raises and bonuses become rare and smaller and suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, the layoffs start. It's a tale as old as time.

That's unpossible! We are constantly told here what a great place SFDC is to work!

Record profits were made with these workers.
I hope they continue to make these profits without these workers.

Very nice bump in SFDC stock price today (+25%). Obviously the street approves. I expect we will soon see similar actions at ORCL given the dozens of services and license products that aren’t making money. Hats off to SF for setting such a decisive example of what management is supposed to do in a publicly traded company.
