Big restructuring coming - 50% workforce reduction in F&L from HW3 project??

Rumor is that nearly 50% of F&L jobs may be at risk as a result of HW3 study. No word on timing, but one can only imagine it will happen this year. Can anyone verify the accuracy of this? If even only partially right, still a massive workforce reduction. 2020-2021 just keeps getting better!

Note that it's not only F&L. Upstream orgs are most affected by all these and you will be shocked in the next coming weeks. Guaranteed.

Yep - that would explain the reasoning behind the HW3 study. They already know that answer they want, so then they create a biased “study” to justify that answer. They did the same when they closed facilities in the past - come up with an answer and then run a dummy study to justify it. That’s the EM way!

I had first hand experience on a study group looking at lab staffing levels to improve efficiency. The briefing we were given was that we had 4-6 more lab technicians than we needed. Once we had brought in all of the data (blending, testing, requesting groups, required turnaround times, etc), our recommendation was the the lab support department needing restructuring, but we needed 2 more lab technicians (not fewer).

The lab director was clearly unhappy with our recommendations and disbanded the team, setting up another within a month. 2 months later, their recommendation: restructure the lab support department and reduce the number of lab technicians by 4.

These recommendations were put into place and a year later, projects were delayed, work was being sent out to 3rd parties (increased external spend) and morale was through the floor
