Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Time to shame Unethical XOM

Enough posting in this site, be bold and step up to channel the unfair treatment via the appropriate platform.
Be wise, this is the time to let the world knows how such organization mistreated its employee during crisis, in disguise. Rip off retirees benefit despite rewarding their years of service.
Employee left with no options but to sign PIL.

@vxv+16FKayVg. Vast people may not care but there are people who cares whether the leaders are defrauding both the stock investors and the employees.

@owf+16FKayVg It certainly was made very clear. An earlier posted said that two managers who refused to have this conversation with their team members because they did not believe anyone on their team should be cut were fired.

I doubt you would be stalking lay-off boards if you had no concern about what truths are being told here.

Should send a message, but isn't. The vast majority of people DO NOT CARE how you were laid off. Only exxonmobil employees are describing this as unethical.

The way this was handled should send a clear message that this is not a corporation you want to do business with.

Top of this list should include CSR (Corporate Strategic Research) and it's now disgraced management at the Clinton, NJ site. The whole place and its management from low level ( Asian, Belgium, Indian, look based f etc.) section head trash to medium level manager ( VP syrup) jerks should all be (and soon be) investigated by the corporation for systematic harmful activities.

People on this board would be b–ching regardless if it was via PIP or just a layoff. Could see it the other way also. Unethical exxon lays off employees during coronavirus.

Get over it and move on.

Disgust to the core how EM conducted the whole exercise.
News is spreading fast especially when country is small and people stay united during crisis.

Leaders become “real”, inspire people through difficult times, decide what not to do during crisis and take ownership in a crisis.

What has EM become during crisis?

It is deeply unfortunate XOM applied such inhumane unethical approach to end the employees career.

It is unbelievable a reputable company conducted rounds of Employee Forum appreciating employee effort in working hard and keeping safe during this pandemic but disguised retrenchment despite employees repeatedly seek for transparency on the potential offloading exercise.

It is unexpected that this organization had failed to plan for an effective cost cutting measure and keep its words during Employee Forum.

This company is massively falling from grace.

LTs and Supervisors, you took away the trust we had in you.

Without trust, there is no leadership!

I can’t imagine why anyone would get laid off, lied on with an attempt to destroy their careers and then come to a layoff board to complain
(eye roll)

You’re wrong if you think the media isn’t receptive to stories of corruption, abuse, and misleading investors, employees.
We might be numb given the state of politics, bur money and people’s portfolio are a different thing.
I agree on the need to man up and be on the record. A personal story owned is harder to discount or dismiss.
It’s evident management doesn’t hear any other way.

You can try to step up and let the world know what is happening. But at the same time, the world is going to say that they don't want anyone to be working in O&G.

Your cries are falling on deaf ears. You think people care, when they actually don't. Quit whining of the seperation and just move on.

LTs denied responsibility.
Key management stay silent.
What kind of leadership is this company becoming.
This is retrenchment in disguise not lay off.

Lay-off can be temporary in nature.

Retrenchment is permanent termination , in line with Clause 4 in PIL

  1. No future employment

I agree that I will not apply for and will not be considered for future employment with EM Corporation, its divisions....

This is Retrenchment in disguise.

Company not affording retrenchment payout to employees who have long service records.
