Joining in the summer of 2022. They sent me a brand new MacBook 16" 2022 model laptop. I'm not sure this is the same for all departments. I'm joining the digital experience design CIB team.

Yes, 100% true (at least as April 2021).
It is not optional, you must work from home because of COVID and you MUST have your own computer in order to work.
I think Chase would be the only big company in US that asks employees to pay for computer from their own packet.
Not sure what is next, employees start paying for a desk and a chair??

Yes. :( I was just offered a software position at JPMC and was told that I will need to use my own equipment. So I am scrambling to find a cheap spare laptop. After many years in the field I do not believe in using the same laptop for work and personal use. Yes they seem to want access to your mobile as well.

I can confirm with 100% certainty that they use VDI in the office, and those that work from home are expected to use their own computers and phones to access VDI. Limited exceptions are allowed. For an example, I would hope that accommodations were made for very low wage jobs that require work from home due to Covid. Also, I believe field employees, who spend minimal time in an office, are given laptops.

Folks, the question was " Does Chase require employees to provide their own laptop?" Let's not get insulting.

No you don't unless you need to work from home, then you will need a laptop or a desktop.

Employees use VDI, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, which allows employees to work anytime, anywhere cheap, it cuts admin and support costs. VDI allows each user to utilize the same image of the the operating system as an installed applications.

Well according to someone who have claims to have knowledge of Chase policies, you all went to VDI years ago and have to provide your own laptop and use the VDI along with your own phone. Perhaps the VDI concept is foreign to all the super smart, but very rude people at Chase.

Just because someone who doesn’t work there doesn’t know your policies doesn’t make them dumb. But the rude responses to a simple question make it clear what we can expect from all the people in leadership roles who left your company to come to ours.

Dumb question. Chase's security apparatus only allows company hardware. You can't use anything that isn't provided by the company or approved by them. Even if you try to use outside hardware, it won't work without specific authorization. Come on people, use your brain.

Yes. No reimbursement for internet so if you can’t afford a better/faster service then you’re in trouble esp if you’re in an Ops role where turnaround times are monitored.
