Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What are your predictions for the holiday season?

What do you think sales are going to look like? I think they’re banking on a great holiday season to pay off some debt from what they lost so far this year. I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Have you looked at the merchandise in the stores it’s all last years stuff that was never RTV’D nixed or transferred they are still trying to recoup. Last years winter coats have now appeared next to bathing suits with big mark downs. The stores don’t know which end is up. The sales people are sparse and few in between, c-ap all over the floors. The sales people do nothing but complain in front of customers. The mangers just look the other way. I thank God I am no longer there Macy’s you did me a favor after 22 years with no warning, by letting me go.. God has a better plan for me..All I know is that I worked my a– off always there never late doing all the work no one else was trained to do. So good luck to all of you left just don’t think it can’t happen to you, cause as soon as you turn your back you might be the next one out the door.

Picture yourself working on the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. That's what we're in for this fall/winter.

If we just say that every laid off associate would have spent $100 and multiply that by the thousands of employees that won’t ever shop at Macy’s the number is enormous. How many did they lay off ? Plus Covid, not to mention a c-ap CEO that has done nothing but drive customers away.

They also inflate their holiday sales numbers with the 50% fragrance discount that is provided on the backend. The holiday numbers are going to be awful.
Jeff also already tried to use Covid why Macy’s would be hurting prior to any shutdown. Which actually would be true for once . The supply line was impacted because of the Chinese products Jeff sells. Will it be the weather and Covid on his next excuse for failure ?

Macy’s really needs a good CEO to survive.

I see a poor holiday season stressing everyone out to milk every cent out of anyone who walks thru that dump . I walked into women shoes. Only two people left and everyone else quit. They moved a guy from men’s dept to shoes. He looked beyond stressed out almost like he was about to collapse on the floor . Fun fact : they will both prolly let go come February and hire new high schoolers to run the show fir next to nothing.

Sales will be low. Theft and destruction will be high and hurt the company.
I would not bank on having a job after January.

Is that what they think is going to happen? That's a serious delusion! Good luck with that.
