ATT is not a cutting edge technology company! The only cutting edge it ever had was Bell Labs, 4ESS/5ESS! It trys so desperately to keep re-inventing itself, but as usual always fails at every endeavor! I've been with this company a very long time, believe me the list of failures goes on and on!
I wish T could get a leader with vision that doesn't need corrective lenses...lol!

I think the last good thing AT&T invented was Unix. Now look at it.
@yzl+16FiDKqX - truth well said. att is not like any other fortune 500 company. I have been to two since I left and both of them had totally different cultures that made them both pleasant places to work. att is a cesspool with a cesspool mindset that will never change.
In wireless it was always about following Verizon and rarely leading.
I would agree with the post about the cultural problem. I know a couple of guys who sell to T at a VP level. What theyve notice d is the VPs always like what hey are selling for other areas of the business but never their own. They have said to me that it’s very clear the upper mgmt is all about protecting their turf to maintain the appearance of relevancy.
Sadly this not forward looking mgmt, nor is it leadership. These are people that care only about maintaining the status quo.
AT&T has a long standing cultural problem. The focus from the top down, is on protecting one’s turf. Everyone one wants to be associated with high visibility projects, but no one wants to stick their necks out and take risks to actually make anything happen. It’s been this way for as long as I can remember. This culture does not support innovation, or actually accomplishing anything, other than posturing.
