Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

How’s that team selling working out Verizon ?

As expected going to the new team commission concept has taken a toll on sales. Based on phones going out the door every metric has plunged. Verizon will smoke screen the awful figures with the pandemic but the reality is this will be the new norm under the team(less) selling. BTW not one other carrier has followed Verizon with this new concept. I wonder why ?

:@2czn+16GFXpUB Remember this : Customers dictate what Verizon does. I guarantee by the time late fall and winter roll around Verizon will have updated rules about customers having to stand outside. Complaints will come in so Verizon will allow clusters inside to appease any negative feedback. BTW imagine having to work that door when it’s like 30 degrees out? Morale will sink to all time lows.

I know this is off topic but if any higher ups are reading this, i know we go back to “normal” hours and reps returning on the 6th , but please for the love of god, do not and I repeat do not go back to anyone can just walk in the store. We need to still be 1 to 1 ratio and we still need customers to be greeted outside

It’s probably for the best that you don’t care about commission anymore. You either go along with the changes or get replaced by someone off the street that doesn’t know any better. Express stores and no commission are on the not so distant horizon.

@2fir+16GFXpUB What increase is coming? Quota ? Nobody cares about quota anymore so Verizon can tinker around with it as much as they want it’s not going to change that we still get a guaranteed payment every month. Like the person below mentioned the difference between actually caring about hitting the quota and what we actually get is only a few hundred dollars.

I worked V for 15 years before I was laid off. Here is how it works. Every time there was a comp change they made quotas low for 2-3 months.

Just wait boys and girls the increase is coming. If one thing is FOR CERTAIN with vzw it’s that they always follow the exact same playbook, doing the same things the same way year after year

No one is “excited” about the new comp plan. Vz stop lying about how “exciting” it is. DM and above still on old comp plan...smh. Wow an easy quota this month, not making any money but thanks VZ

The new structure has been very rewarding. At my store I used to be a bottom performer and I sat in the back on Instagram thumbing endlessly through the lives of people who lived fulfilling lives. Now, with all the top performers gone, I feel like I have meaning and purpose in my life. I go into work everyday and do my best, I’m living! It’s no longer vicariously through other people.

I’m down to 14 c-gare–es per day and only 3 energy drinks, I’m going to bed by 1am now and I feel great. Now I feel important, working harder for less is awesome.

Not sure why embezzling Hans was banned from Europe for his Enron 5gee antics. Thankfully we are in good hands!

@1vdx+16GFXpUB Who cares about the targets when there is no minimum threshold to making a check ? I don’t know if everyone has the same at risk but here in Texas it’s about 975 .The worst we can possibly make for commission any given month is 500. Yes that includes bottoming out on RIS. Nobody is going to be busting b.utt to possibly make a few extra hundred dollars every month. It is what it is. Until Verizon cycles out the reps used to to the old commission plan hitting targets in the stores will be a major challenge.

We’re doing awesome in our store, I mean maxing sales out at 1.3 is really stupid. But I think once actual goals get going getting 1.3 is going to be like getting windfall. On a store level I don’t think it’ll be possible. But I suppose this was by design

So, some observations at my store since "Team Selling * began. The only "heavy hitter" left is hanging out in the back more trying to find some smb job(which Verizon going to eliminate anyway), no team selling whether we are busy or not, it actually the same as before team selling with 1 rep per customers ( usually a family of 4 looking to buy 1 phone to upgrade making the store crowded and unsafe by the way let in by one of the Sms) the only metrc that is weighted and is discussed is the weighted surveys and the 1.5 multiply. I shudder if a rep gets an 8 or less in the next 2 days because we are at 87.5 now and it will only take one to get below a 1.5 so the rep who gets it will get ostracized by the Team. Thats a fantastic Team builder!yes ,I know, its only a couple of bucks difference, but thats still less! So its not working as advertised!

I work for ATT and always track the layoff to stay in touch with what’s going on with other carriers. It is surprising to me that Verizon went rogue with team commission. ATT is not even rumored to go in that direction and a major change like that would take some time because we are union.
