Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

“Guyana will not tolerate Exxon’s arrogance and disrespect “

https://www.nycaribnews.com/articles/ram-opposes-exxonmobil-guyana-will-not-tolerate-exxons-arrogance-and-disrespect/

What the whole world thinks of Exxon - arrogance, my way or the highway, not being transparent and so many other negative traits, is what we all feel and experience from the inside also. Glad to see countries and governments standing up - what will Exxon do? Take the business somewhere else outside of Guyana? That’s laughable if we want to survive as a company.

This is Real Yammer.

“XOM does not play politics” - have you met Rex, and were you aware of his work in Russia??
Did you know all the work with Mexico’s most corrupt administration to get the liberalization law we wanted?
Have you forgotten that the Foreign Corrupt Practices law was established because of Exxon, and that we still are mandated training because of that honor?

Go tout the party line and kiss a– at Yammer.

And what does this have to do with "layoffs"?

XOM does not play politics because it cannot predict which party will hold power over the life of the asset. Better to be poltically neutral and influence govt decisions with sound technical and development plans. EM experienced similar delays in Angola and worked thru the process of approval. This is normal in working with govt and it is good that there is a govt finally in office.

Xom needs to understand we are not the only company out there. Stop bullying, stop promoting bullying internally. If Xom pulls out another company will go for it.

We really need to understand that XOM is not the only company out there and not a superpower. Stop bullying society and stop bullying your own people. Stop promoting this behavior. If you pull out of Guyana someone other company will come along and take it.

Exxon arrogant? They call the employees or ex-employees on this thread liars & whiners yet there are several current articles voicing the worlds frustration with Exxon’s arrogance. Many leaders of Exxon are quite arrogant (on most levels) and many of these ex employees were people who also reached a level of frustration. Tired of being beat down by narcissists & bullies promoted into positions over internal politics.
