Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Rasies

As we all know the cashiers and front end people are or have gotten raises. 15 bucks an hour. What I have been seeing is a major shift in attitude amongst floor merchandising crew. Quite frankly they are p-ss-d about not being included in this raise. Now dont get me wrong. My club has some lazy floor people, but we also have some hard working people. Long time people who arent close to 15 bucks an hour. We have been left in the dark. Are we going to get the same as the front end? Managers have told us nothing to ease the anxiety and the anger about what's going on. There are hard working people who show up day in and day out, do the right thing, never call off despite the fact that no points are being issued. Others are abusing this system and looking at this as a free vacation. If Sam's Club is going to screw us and f— us, at least they can give us a kiss first.

No worries. In a couple of years or less. There will be no cashiers and salesfloor associates will be replaced by robots just like the maintenance self driving machine. Meat market will get a self cutting machine. Bakery will get a self decorating machine. So the fight for pay raises will be over. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I’m sure there’s some type of attachment to their raise. Floor associates get a raise and then the next thing you know the expectations are raised along with it as well. Also there is a reason why most of us don’t want to be in the front end, some of us don’t feel comfortable with touching money or would lose their cool with the amount of disrespect the members give them up front. People could always apply as a cashier or organize a petition.

our club is short on front end people so the people on the floor are still being pulled from their job doing the 15.00 job. it's all a mess and the people on the floor are mad because of this. I refuse to do a 15.00 job for 11.50. if you need me then pay me the 15.00 otherwise I'll be zoning, stocking, helping with members and spotting. get a clue Sam's club

Everyone should earning at least 15.00 an hour. This company is making tons of money. We got a nice Sam's Share b/t 600 and 700, which I am grateful for, however the fat cats are getting more and more. I go to work everyday, I do not call out, I work my butt off on the floor, I am a backup cashier, and I also get asked to get credit and plus. I am not front end, I am a merchandiser. I cover the door, the self checkouts. But no more I refuse to help the front end, unless I am ordered to.

Would floor associates still be p-ss-d off if they had gotten a raise but the front end did not? The same could be said about every department. There is a reason associates want to stay away from being a cashier and I’ve heard ‘you couldn’t pay me enough to go back to being a cashier’ or ‘I hated being on the front end because of the members and managers harassing us about plus and credit’ enough to know that the front end DESERVES a pay increase. Personally I wish all associates made the same pay, team leads the same, and then managers as well. Four pay levels total (because NONE of us want to be club manager for any amount). Bonuses paid for accomplishments to those that deserve it. Am I really going to say this...bring back the 60 cent raise incentive?
