401K Match for Employees Under Three Years

Was anyone laid off (fake cover name "PIP'ed") under the three year 401K match vesting period able to keep their vesting contributions from the company? I've been hearing different things, and it's concerning because company could take up to $25K out of your savings plus your investment returns (unless you had XOM stock).

This vesting 'claw-back' element was a hidden little gem for the abacus-pushers in Accounting/HR.
Probably covered a couple of executive dividends for 4Q.

How can this company get so smart all the sudden?

Glad you are sleeping easy - there are better roads to travel.

2 years with the company and let go. Not even given a PiP, not that I would want it anyway. So there goes my match. I don't think they take your gains though? I think they would just take away the match and any gains the match made. The money you invested should still be yours, I would think...

Meeeee. My PiP slash about to be PiL will end six days before my 401k vests. I only lightly sob myself to sleep.
