Not true. Ridership is down with covid. Amtrak is about to layoff 1600 employees because of this. That combined with Metra having to take over UP employees (They use less guys per train than UP) there will be layoffs. Amtrak is also government controlled.
Cal Ave will be safe......Metra pays the tab. So give it a rest . UP has no power over commuter, They will do what the government tells them to do. And that is continue as normal.
