Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

MIT

I'm a Msl and has been accepted for MIT at another club. Is MIT training difficult? And I also wonder which position will be going away soon .

I still can't figure out why anyone in their right mind would want a manager or assistant manager job at that place! Of course there are some people that just wouldn't get hired elsewhere.

I just completed my MIT Training at my home club and the process went smooth. I guess it all depends on the club manager and the organization of the club itself. I moved on to getting a position at a new club and this club is a mess. The type of people are different, the right processes are not put into place, and the club manager and co manager are never on the same page. I guess i just need to get used to the change but as of rightnow im so stressed out because i dont know what is expected of me. Im required to do everything in the club from hiring for the club, fresh, front end, merchandising...etc.....for someone just getting out of MIT this has been a challenge for me. ( Just wanted to give you my perspective. Good Luck. )

Most managers will not pick someone from their club to go through MIT. Reason is the manager knows the likely-hood of the MIT candidate successfully completing the training and staying is less then 10%, being generous. Also those who do not complete the training rarely stay.

Your responsibilities will be everything and anything the other managers do not want to do.

Being a manager right now with the current status of the company, it’s not safe at all. I understand if you need to make more money but most likely you’ll be let go in less then 4years. Kiss your personal life good bye. But if you’re up for the task, then best of luck to you.

Be careful because each club is required every year to get 2 people in MIT. That doesn't guarantee you a job as a mgr. If there is no openings they will direct you to the wire and find a club in some other state if no openings locally. The individual clubs just cover their own butts but won't cover yours. Otherwise they will put you in any department until a position opens.
