No saying what you have to sign up to in order to get the “enhanced package”
it's a gamble.
In 2011, if you declined ER, and got LR, there is no chance of getting ER package.
I don’t think HR will tell you specifically who is enhanced but typically it would be a director level or above since they require more time to find a new role. Most would get the 3 months rest of year and 3 months typical package or possible 4.
Good point below. I'm checking with HR on eligibility and what exactly that means.
Those that qualify in the phase 1 LR for an enhanced package will get the same. Not everyone qualifies for an enhanced package.
I'm not going to send the reply from my work computer, but they provided me with the message prepared from the legal team. "WTO phase one enhanced package has the same benefit and cash package as the CEP. "

Not same
HR stated that those eligible for the ER but don't take it will get the same package if LRd. Call them and ask. I have the WebEx team reply from them while we discussed it on the phone
Guessing the LR will be 6-months COBRA or less, they HAVE to get this bloodbath soaked up on the FY21 books.
The decision people are contemplating is that the LR package is the same as always. With the diminished ER package, you have to assume that the LR package will be 50% or less of what it use to be. It could also wind up being like IBM did 2-3 years ago. They gave 30-days of severance and insurance in RTP.
People are failing to realize that Cisco can use the additional unemployment as the reason to not pay out severance. Put it this way, if they can get rid of more people by not paying benefits and dumping over to unemployment, they will do it. Severance will reduce the number of people that they will get rid of, say 5,000. By not paying severance, they can get rid of 8,000. Its no skin off their back because there is no PR hit from it. The only thing that matters is stockholders opinions.
Cisco recommends you take it. Really, it’s what you want.
stressful day indeed! hard to know what the right decision is and will one be kicking themselves in the backside should they choose wrong :(
