Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Hey Nike Leadership, Listen Up

Hey JD, Nike leadership. We’re stressed, frustrated and scared. Thats what should have been addressed at today’s meeting.

I know there are reasons for Extending this agonizing waiting period past the previously mentioned timeline but it really makes it harder on us. I love this company and brand and hope to still be here after this reorg, but what’s happening right now is painful, scary, and traumatizing.

We need less patronizing, feel-good platitudes and rah rah right now because many of us don’t feel very good. What we need is more empathy and compassion.

@3nj

I have to agree with you. JD would've told MJ and Tiger to take a walk if he were running Nike back in the day. No imagination.

I was around in the business when Nike came out "Just Do It" campaign in late 80s with Bo Jackson. And they have enough bravado to make that stick. A salute from underdog to all institutionalization with middle finger way up.

Fast forward 30 plus years and guess what? NIke is on top of that institution!!
When you are on the top then your only answer is down hill.

Just Institutionalize Baby!!

turning Nike from cool vibrant company that was in their existence into distant,
corporate, mean spirited, number crunching and rudderless company is something
JD already did.

This is second time he is doing it. And seems like he got better with time because he is
doing it more ruthless, efficiently and effectively then before. And that is not good
for many in this site.

He was at Ebay during their critical time and dropped the ball.

The biggest beneficiary of his ineptitude was Jeff Bezos and Amazon.

I believe that he doing same thing, same track. Just there is no Amazon on horizon.

Perhaps on small shoe company in an industrial park somewhere is that Amazon
that will kick Nike in the knee while JD is busy playing Nero.

Are you people buying this b—s— of "this is what the employees want?" Wake up!

I pray someone pulls JD head out of his back side for a moment and introduces him and the other C-level execs to this website because this is what Nike employees really want! Whatever BS survey that was done saying “this is what we want” was clearly lost on JD. I don’t think anywhere in that survey did anyone want to lose their job.

They really want to spread the financial impacts of the layoff across/into the first quarter of the new calendar year.
They s—
They will continue to s— and do nothing to actually change the corrosive environment.
Nike leadership- you have a problem with how women, POC and those of us over 45 are treated.

Fix it or F you

Ive got employee store access as a forced "retiree" - haven't use it once because I refuse to wear a logo from a company that treats it's employees so poorly.
