Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Here is hoping.

I really wish this site was more useful and those pot stirrers would seek drama elsewhere. Stop asking about recruiting! It's the least of our worries, stop pitting departments against each other as if there wasn't enough animosity between them and offices already. And please stop posting fake days/dates. Please. I said please.

I hope all Us PXD people concerned get what they want out of this. The sad thing is that if management would just ask honestly, I'm sure they could come up with the numbers they are looking for with staying and going alike. Because after 3 rounds, I don't count them as 2, (1 Voulintary & 2 Invoulintary) in the last 18 months or so, if someone they want to keep because of "business need" wants out they are gone at the first opportunity. Due to not trusting a word management is going to say. I seem to recall "we are good" being the line we were fed last time.

Good Luck Amigos!!!

Please.

All comments are well said and well meaning. It is sad when management needs to meet the bottom line the first thing they do is cut staff. As said in earlier comments Pioneer should have been pruning staff when they left the International, the shallow and deep GOM and the other domestic basins. Now unfortunately it is a fire sale RIF. The employees now are paying the price for strategic mistakes made my management over the last 3-5 years. My hope their will be a Phoenix that rises from the ashes of this mess and the FUTURE MANAGERS AND CEO will be much more people savvy and petroleum industry savvy where they can build a fortress balance sheet where this will never happen again.

Just put your hand up now if you want the package. Managers are listening. I have heard of multiple who have had that conversation and zero where the manager is saying tough luck. Do it before friday out of respect for mgmt they are trying to get things ready. Its a great deal if you are considering career change. Many could make this last years while they pursue a dream career. Not to mention you are saving another's job that wants to stay. Everyone is replaceable. I say that in a nice way doesn't mean they want you out but if you think they will say no because you are too important, chances are you're wrong. If you you are honest and respectful even if they didn't accept your volunteer i can't imagine it would affect your future at the company.
