Is there any truth, to rumors that construction will be doing a lot of hiring in the next few months? If so how many techs are needed?

There was an announcement today that Stankey was going to seek federal dollars to spread high speed broadband across the country. Is that how you get federal dollars by endorsing black lives matter and conducting sensitivity sessions about that? Perhaps he is counting on someone else to win the presidential election in November. Not to mention alienating all those rich white people who are the targets of att marketing. That is as big a mistake as losing 5 billion on a failed merger. The stock holders expect their managers to be motivated to maximize the profit and not political correctness.
What's the provider and what service level/cost per month? Again, NO consumer internet service is guaranteed, NONE. Frankly, I just don't believe your story, that or you think you have a guarantee but the fine print says otherwise. Either way, prove me wrong.

No money no fiber. The problem with previous buildouts is the cfst is placed across the street from a used car lot and junk yard and the customer that wants service has a business on the next street thats supposed to be fed from the other street across an empty lot, junk yard and used car business. No jump poles, the engineer figured it was good enough. No wonder managers get fired all the time around here.

Any residential /small business grade service( in At&it's case, Uverse) fed via a "pipeline" system(remember when Charter cable called their service this) can't have a guaranteed speed, the more people on the pipe, the more it can slow down(variable dependent). On the other hand, At&t Dedicated Internet(Switched Ethernet) is a private connection with guaranteed speeds since you are the only user on the circuit .
@2ely+16M2L4DY Why do the mods allow this kind of abuse. I get my service from a company that guarantees my speed and so far have met their obligation after 2 years and plan on keeping my service for a long time with them. Att gets real money for their service and whether I am a business or not should not make a difference. Maybe this is why att is in the shape they are in because of this attitude towards their customers. I will give my hard earned money to a moral, ethical, and responsible company that can give me guarantees not snake oil like the original op said.
D6 we can see they are building out fiber already but no one has said they are. We see contractors placing fiber into newer neighborhoods and leaving cable in hand holes. However they havent been spliced to terminals yet or pulled through to extend them further into neighborhoods. So they are doing something but its early.
I don’t know about the number of union members that will be hired but I can tell you that engineering has been told to expect a 4 year residential build plan. We have already started the PFP designs. The cable design teams are starting to get in place. We have been told that construction should start in the early months of 2021. In addition we have been told that a commercial build is planned as well.

Spoken like a true mo–n that has no idea how networks in the real world work. You’re only going to get guarantees when you pay for them in a business class service.
Consumer internet is, always has been, and always will be, best effort.
If they do add people, it will likely just be temporary OPT’s and they won’t be adding any permanent positions back.

D3 is West, I was under the impression that due to the unstableness of the region, I.e.earthquakes, aftershocks and wildfires, that a fiber build out would be expensive to install and maintain.

If your inquiring because your a tech I would have a letter on file. There maybe some commercial build out.
I don't think so. Fiber build-out requires money, and AT&T is leveraged to the hilt.
