Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

How many of you lurking around here are not Honeywell employees (anymore)?

Was RIF'ed earlier this year and went on to a much better employee (obviously), but find myself lurking around here still just to see what's up inside Honeyhell every now and then. I guess partly because I feel sorry for all my talented and friendly ex colleagues all over the world who are still remaining, and partly to understand how much worse it can become...

What are your reasons, ex-employees? :)

Don’t worry if you get laid off, even in these uncertain times, good jobs do exist! I was let go and have done very well, took me about three months to find a better job with benefits that Honeywell could never provide with its careless attitude towards employees. You have options, don’t panic just get out and start applying, you will be fine!

Hey Ex-Hons, whatever your reasons are for checking back here, you don't owe anyone an explanation. Sharing such information just gives others ammunition to judge you by their own sometimes selfish, skewed, or irrational standards. This is a public forum. Visit and post as you wish.

I've only been gone for 15 months and am still having a very hard time severing ties! It's not easy to move on from something that was such an integral part of your life, of your being, of your soul. I loved my job, and the people that I served. I come here in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, I'd be able to return and continue doing what I loved. A caveat to that, however, is the fact that the more I read and learn, the more I realize that I may never get that chance which in a way, is helping me to move on, albeit very very slowly. To my colleagues who are still there, YES, the struggle is SO REAL, and I wish you all the very BEST!

I usually check in for updates on future RIFs and cost savings measures. Put in my 2-weeks notice last week after 3 years in an engineering role following college. Looking forward to a brighter future and am glad many of my bright, less tenured, and high-performing colleagues are in the process to do the same.

I laid myself off and called it a retirement years ago and it seems only to have gotten worse. I put in almost 30 years with this company. At one time it was a very good company to work for. BTW, I was black listed by this site for a long time for reasons unknown. I wonder how many others have been shut down in this way.

I linger only to read what’s going on. It makes me happy to be out. I rarely post anything unless the question is relevant to me like this one. My pension (not 401k) depends on Honeywell so I want to be prepared in the event they go bankrupt

This site seems to be pretty accurate most of the time, while I was an employee and since my RIF earlier in 2020

Dah... You should be grateful that X employees share the truth. You're better off going in with eyes wide open. If all is great for you, we'll all say congratulations!

I am interested in the ongoing situation mainly because I have friends who still work at Honeywell. Knowing more about their situation is helpful when we talk, and some have asked me for references when they do move on. For those of us still working elsewhere, some employers will actually pay for referring engineers who apply for jobs in their companies.

Was a fallout of the WFH debacle after 37 years. After all the sacrifice given it's a comfort to continue to see I made the right choice at the time.
I do feel bad for all the others but there is life after Honeyhell. To bad as the company was a huge star in the Phoenix community for so many years, now sits an embarrassment.

Honeywell was the focus of so much of my life for many years, so I lurk here out of nostalgia and curiosity. My experience was good, actually, not that everyone’s is.

i visit here and other sites like glassdoor, kununu, indeed, and anywhere else i can set the online reputation record straight. Nothing but facts. My goal is to leave one review for every person i know that was damaged by honeywell forcing managers to lie.
At ten reviews a week i doubt i will ever finish.

At 1st I came back here because I had questions about being laid off that I hoped others could answer. It also was reassuring to hear others in the same situation as me.

Then I was hired elsewhere, but occasionally still answer people questions about unemployment, the relocation services, offer words of encouragement, etc. as others did for me.
As I was a manager, I also occasionally provide insite to how decision are made behind the scenes. But I don't do that much now as the longer I'm away the more my information is dated.

Now I check in occasionally because I care about my old employees and still talk to a few. But also honeywell is like a canary in the coal mine for my industry. They overreact and are the 1st to layoff. That is why Honeywell is, by far, one of the most active companies on this site.

same as 16NgVrs7. $till getting my monthly 'lifetime $everance" at least hopefully lifetime. After 39 years working there I still have several friends and several people I hired 20 to 30 years ago still employed there. Also am fascinated by how most years they find a way to screw employees out of another benefit.

I check out of concern for my former coworkers some of whom I consider friends. I am concerned about our site closing. I was with Honeywell for over 30 and you don't just leave 30 years behind. You move on maybe but you dont forget those still there and you hope for the best for them.

Let it go! Get over it! You are no longer employed by this company and you are assisting in creating rumors and panic for those still at Honeywell. I think it’s incredibly rude and irresponsible for those that have been laid off to continue with their obsession over a situation that is OVER for you. People are terrified that they have instability at this company and these obsessive ex employees are making it worse. JUST STOP.
