Vpn is irrelevant with cloud. But why Palo Alto networks doing so well?

Palo has a very nice cloud FW play. It works well for AWS VPC. Cisco's cloud plays are clunky and stupid.

with everything in cloud why would anyone need a firewall? aws and azure have identical functionality to this. i can still see a remote access. Vpn use case but not a firewall

OP is absolutely correct

2/3rds of “firewall” sales are actually REMOTE ACCESS sales. The actual packet firewall has been irrelevant for years. Linux OS has a better packet firewall and https pretty much made app layer fw irrelevant. snort ? please

The frightening concern for GSSO is that 65% of its sales comprise of firewalls. Edge computing and cloud based security will rapidly tank that business. Cisco is truly a sinking ship.

100% of those firewall sales are really vpn remote access sales.
why csco insists on pretending they are firewall sales is beyond me. network firewall is such a dated idea to begin with
