Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

At&t is slowly going extinct.

Best any of us can do is ride our time out until you can't. In the meantime , don't stress this place. Collect your paycheck for as long as you can and enjoy your family. That's all that matters: family and friends.

That probably means that those who even retire before the end of this year, won't have any att health care subsidies after 2023.

That is what I expected when I hired on decades ago to the monolithic telecommunications fortune 500 company.

If you're about the retire, good on you, you earned it.
If you're middle age, you are screwed, having years of T on your resume isn't attractive to potential employers. This is from personal experience.
If you're young, why are you still here? Get another job and left T off your resume asap.

I get the impression that as the stock gets lower and stays lower, and T makes itself look a lot like buy bait, even after they (try to) dump DTV, WM/CNN, Xandr, and anything else, then the real big tech co's will step and and buy up the fractional left over pieces. It won't be a whole buy, but wireline as one, wireless as the other, not sure what-else is left that is worth a buy up. Also, T could become Section 8, a ward of the state, and become a government entity, maybe that what was behind winning the First Net contract, being the government telephone system?

At&t will tap former Kodak CEO to bring T back to the 19th century!

I am not sure there is another well run company that is STUP1D enough to buy T whole, unless maybe the stock price goes down to the penny stock range. But by that time there won't be any technology in T that anybody wants.

NOBODY is going to want to pick up the debt that Ratty strangled us with!

But of course there might be a price that companies will pick off pieces parts of T.

You know how T's mergers go:

  • T finds a company to ruin
  • T overpays by three of four time the value of said target company to ruin.
  • Mismanagement chases away all the talent of said target company.
  • T place some id–t in change of said target company to ruin it.
  • T Changes strategy and tries to unload said ruined company for a shinny penny.
  • T declares $UCE$$

For example, someone will pay up for the good spectrum we rent. Someone might pay up for bits of fiber they need to complete their networks.

Eventually at&t will devalue to the point where it is snatched up for pennies on the dollar by an Amazon , google , or an Apple type Company. It'll take years but it will happen. T-mobile has already relegated at&t to third place in wireless. At&t will eventually have to unload time warner as well as Directv and Xandr. T-mobile has the best and superior solution for providing high speed Internet to homes via 5g. Between that and Amazon's and Tesla deploying high speed Internet via low orbit satellites , AT&T's plan to build out fiber is too little too late too expensive. Watch for one of these companies to buy att when the price falls to under 20 dollars a share.

I think it is already dead, but kept on the respirator of more borrowing and debt so that Ratty, Stinky and the Board of MisDirectors can extra every ounce of ca$h they possibly can to enrich themselves.

Hmmm, Hmmm - good to the last drop ($).

Archaeologists will have the debate of whether Ratty, Adam Neumann, or Jeff Immelt was the worst CEO of the 21st Century!

when this is over, T WILL become the Most Bizarre Fossil Discoveries of All Times ... first thought to be Bull, but now Houston's local naturalists think would look like a Combination a snake, a donkey, and a turkey.

RemarKable .
