Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Please MVO or Surplus

I can’t take this toxic hell hole anymore. I’m applying everywhere to get out...thank goodness I have MR75. This place is not good for my health or sanity. God bless those who want to or have to hang in.

You want to be surplus, next best is MVO, least best is retire out on your own, presuming that you have met MR75. It's been discussed many times here about whether you can, or if its a good idea to approach your boss and make mention, a request for surplus. The results are mixed, can comes down to your particular boss, and the area that they are in, as well as being bargained and non-bargained, lot of variables. No matter how you slice it, the odds of not saying anything seem to be the best plan forward, wait it out, and bail on your own at the last minute if you can't stand it anymore.

Tell your manager you are open to the next MVO. Make room for someone else to stay

Some say age is just a number but I have to say that being over 50 that I can agree that there is unnecessary stress in this job from performance and quality that goes into dealing with the public! Some people are easy to please and some people ,no matter what you do to satisfy them then they are still not pleased! As we are graded as technicians on how the customers feel about Att it’s not a fair assessment as we are being held responsible for that customer! If you really want to know what the customers think, then do away with a text message junk and pick up the phone and talk to the customers in person and I betcha that the first 10 minutes of the conversation is how they couldn’t understand the rep and was transferred 3 times after being on the phone for 2 hours just to get someone to come out! That is enough to raise anyone’s high blood pressure and I can go on but that’s the first 15 to 20 minutes of the day to hear about our customer service! Hello! Knock, knock!Att needs to put call centers back here in the US and turn this around!

Took the buyout, landed another job with same pay and better health benefits. There is definitely life after att. (Full disclosure I began preparing for this several years ago by going back to school).

Working for AT&T should qualify individuals to apply for disability under the ADA Act.

AT&T has sucesfully perfectioned the art of discrimination that can be emotional, physical and, or social Depressive, quite similar to the German's SS physiological warfare program during the WWII.

Many suffer loss of self-confidence, anxiety and feelings of helplessness. emotional effects. High blood pressure, headaches, ulcers, weight loss and sleeplessness are physical effects. Socially, discrimination leads to lower productivity, causing poor performance, withdrawal from fellow workers.
it highly desired to be impacted by routine layoffs

Remember that no job is worth your life. This does not define you, so don't let them ruin you. Smile 'n wave and keep digging..

Wow. You need help. See a mental health professional. I too went through several years of up and down. I got let go in July. It was hard but I’m optimistic. Yet I never felt like you.
