I know that JD stated that Nike retail store employees wouldn’t be impacted in layoffs. However seeing how there is a downturn in traffic one would think that statement wasn’t true

I would not take anything JD said to be an absolute truth. Nike's leadership have no definitive plan; they are shooting in the dark - shotgun approach - and hope they will hit some target! Be on the offense yourself and prepare for the worst case scenario. That is just about the best advice one can offer you. Best of luck to us all.
