I worked for AT&T for 5 years! I started to normalize the environment and how the business operated. I normalized manager’s behavior with shady sales tactics and I became stressed out with trying to meet goals even when no one would buy anything. I took the time in the past 7 months to update my resume, LinkedIn, cover letter, and so much more. I started to network with others and finally I had an interview with an amazing reputable company. Fast forward two weeks after the interview, offer letter, and background check, I am proud to say I no longer work for AT&T. The new company I work for comes with way better benefits than what I had with ATT, more professional, more pay (my fav), and the benefits are just beyond amazing. My advice to you all is to not wait around! Invest in yourself and start looking elsewhere. You deserve it.

I agree! The kids and I go out around 11pm every night to dig through the dumpsters behind fast food restaurants for things to eat. We are lucky to have a Salvation Army close to our home, so showering every other day and brushing out teeth is pretty easy. Compared to working for a godless and souless company like AT&T; I'd say we are much happier. Better yet, when I tell the story about how I and others were treated by AT&T almost every one that reads the tattered cardboard sign that I hold up at my panhandling spot on the Walmart parking lot hands me a $5 bill and say that they will cancel all of their AT&T services when they get home. Life is Good!
Not sure about the life is better thing. I am 61, laid off 7/24, and all I get are contract job contacts that want skills it will take me four years to develop or acquire or require me to move for a 6 month gig. My income now is enhanced unemployment. Virtually debt free and adequate savings, but wasn't prepared to retire yet. Sometimes the grass isn't so green.
retired after 41 years, they ruined my life - made me cynical, I hate most people. but had children to take care of. Its a POS company, with POS people.
