How safe are UCS folks with Intel's roadmap screwed?

8 out of 9 M5 generation of UCS servers is built on top of Intel Xeon. Intel's roadmap doesn't look pretty. How would this affect UCS BU in upcoming rounds of LR? Any thoughts.

UCS is not in trouble due to the Intel roadmap. UCS is in trouble because the server industry is being commoditized and customers are rushing to AWS and Azure for cheaper compute resources. Industry aside we've stopped innovating! bottom line. I joined the UCS team in it's early days because we had differentiation and it wasn't another "me too" story. We now see Cisco dropping FIs in favor of Intersight management and we've become just another Intel box with a fancy bezel. Intersight sales are based on 100% vision and future features that don't exist and customers are not buying into ECs that are years out. Unfortunately It's turned into a pricing game when competing against other vendors on who can deliver the same Intel CPU, same Kingston Memory and same Intel NVME drives all wrapped in fancy sheet metal. It's a shame...Cisco had a great thing going, they just stopped giving a sh– and stopped innovating.
