Naturally they would not have to face the tax consequences of a late-year lump sum. In your face, peons!

Or have to look for work between Thanksgiving and New Year's. Or have to decide between having the usual holiday celebrations and giving gifts to their kids or scaling back the celebrations/visits with family/gift giving to ensure they have enough $ to pay bills without dipping into their retirement savings.

It's nice to get treated better than the peons. Why do coaches and CxO's all have "contracts" or golden parachutes? If you fail to win as a coach, or you fail to keep a company's profits up, why do you deserve to be paid thousands/millions to leave?

Cisco adjusts budgets every six months. They start with a plan at the beginning of the year, and adjust it in the second quarter before going into the second half of the year.

Lmao is this why there are so many org changes recently? Every VP trying to prove their worth so they don't get axed by the CFO/COO/CIO etc

This sounds about right. Usually there is a three month transition period where old leaders have to assist new leaders to get their parachute package, October +3 sounds correct..

Interesting - cut execs after they cut the workers. Is this rumored package voluntary or involuntary?
