Back in the old days Pioneer conducted 360 PMP reviews on the Managers by their employees. The Managers sweat bullets when their time had arrived. But it did tend to weed out the poor managers that lacked technical skills. I was there 20 years and I hated the unchanged annual PMP evaluation, they could be gamed by the "do gooders, A kissers and the kissups." My tact was I was always put myself as performing, and if my boss wanted to elevate it, I would not argue. I had fast trackers in my department and after 20 years I outlasted them all. Your quality of work should speak for you, and not by knelling under your managers desk. Hope in the reorg that Pioneer selects another method to manage people and stop the ranking against one another, this does not encourage fair play and collaboration amongst peers.
