Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Feel like we are being punished

With hours being pushed back, reps being shortened to 5 or 6, and the looming coronavirus I feel like people in stores are being punished.
The stress level is ridiculously high and Verizon is doing nothing to help make us feel like we matter! They aren’t doing anything! Heck, our GM or DM or Director hasn’t given us the least bit of mental or emotional support during these trying times! Where is the care!? On the money, of course! It should be about more than that!

There is nothing management can do to intimidate us anymore. We will literally just laugh and move on. We are down to 3 reps and 2 managers (including GM) with the highest quota in our district. They try to get us to take shorter lunch breaks because we have a line of people waiting but we still take our hour walking past all the waiting customers on the way out. Surveys are already in the dumps because of the uncontrollable factors Verizon has pushed upon us. If a customer threatens to leave Verizon, I simply give them their acct# and transfer pin then call the next one up. Wanna upgrade? Well that’s an online promo only and sorry you had to wait so long so i could point out that fine print. “Well how do i transfer all my stuff?” Ma’am I’d give you a sheet of paper with the instructions but again the print is small and it’s easier to just google it. Work life balance has been better because i no longer give out my number and set brutality honest expectations.

Please explain to me what the proper procedure of making appointments?? These dummies of a management staff seem to be sending troubleshooting and billing questions in all day long...weren't we suppose to be showing self serve options and setting up appointments ?

Awful.com all the stores are short handed right now and none one cares. I think every body is over it at this point. Verizon only cares about money and their stock holders. Things will only get worse they hope people quit. If people quit when they have to close more stores they wont have to offer packages.
