I have no clue what I’m talking about? So when they sell off all of the intended locations to indirect and are left with excess SM’s, then what? They will offer them telesales or a package. That’s a layoff. These reps/Sm’s will not leave on their own. There won’t be room for them when the dust settles.

@xjb+16SS5lnc you have no clue wat u r talking. Retail is a sinking ship I get that but the law of averages will play out so they do not have another layoff. In my area we are running on September call ups no joke we are justing getting by barely. Retail is not a career yes u r right about that. We r losing about a employee a week in my district and most of my reps are looking for jobs and interviewing for other position during there workday I could care less do what they got to do. Express stores are coming. 40 hours reps will be forced to 32 or 24. Why would they layoff and payout when employees are leaving on there own. This is death by papercuts.

They will continue to lay-off until the job is done. Why do some of you still think retail is a viable career? And yes they will need to make cuts because I know plenty of SM’s who would never leave Verizon on their own. They’re literally waiting to be fired.

They would have saved a bunch of money if they laid us when covid started and they just closed 88 stores and reduced headcount and reps/managers are leaving in packs. Makes no sense for a layoff give it 3-6 month and the turnover will happen on its own no need to payout servance and take a pr hit. Also with the cares act they have been paying us 66 cents on the dollar. Also check the job board they have started back filling some management jobs. I could see a hybrid role coming down the line which would make sense. Op has no clue what they are talking about.

Also have a good source that this is coming soon. They want to start 2021 very lean and keep a retail environment that doesn't need a lot of staff in stores. Big cuts coming.

Verizon is smart....smarter then all of us but we are not dumb. Verizon has used the China virus as a scapegoat. They have already made many changes in the retail environment and the staffing changes are and will be no shock. The first wave of reduction of staffing has already taken place. The second wave is currently underway with the telesales initiative. The third wave will focus on the OP’s topic of manager changes. No shock once again. If you don’t think by reducing headcount and retail store closings will have any effect on management then you better buckle up buttercup. Another person on here mentioned a valid point a few days ago. There is no way a retail store staffed with 4 SS’s will have a GM and 2 SM’s. That is your first clue to major management staff changes.

I couldn't believe it ! the Dm of my Zone walked into the store today wearing a denim shirt and heavy black jeans! So maybe this website does get to these hypocrites that run stores ! I'm still in shock! I have never seen them wear or uniform! EVER! this is a small win for the front line! Let's hope it will continue

With everyone at home since March, we don't need mobile phones. With everyone at home on cable internet, we don't need 5G. This reorg reflects the new reality.

Well, the Verizon way is RIF's in Q4 so they are off the books in 2021. So we will see soon enough.
