Also, once you get out of that environment then you realize how bad the culture is.
You can make a great living working for ExxonMobil but you will pay for it in constant frustration.
And the sad part about it is the management is so prideful and arrogant they don’t care, they’d rather you just leave.
I’m certainly thankful for all the benefits of working there but the culture and environment is just terrible.
I know several that “retired” early only to come back as overpaid consultants and thinking they had the same rank as before they retired. All of those are now at home wondering when they can come back...
Amen. I didn't retire but I quit at a young age when things were at high. Couldn't be happier, Didn't give s damn about losing pension and pretty high salary and that was the best decision of my life,
Within a few years after joining the organization, most of us realize that you have a lot of interaction with lowly spineless human form called supervisors. In my humble opinion, there is no worse collection of – human form, lack of talent and poor behavior that I have ever seen that exists in these first level supervisors at ExxonMobil are.
Since you need to deal with this stink layer on a regular basis as a new hire, you are doomed to start with. Either start stinking yourself or be screvved
I'm still employed. Been at the Company for many decades and EVERYONE I know who has retired wished they had left earlier. But not sure this is an ExxonMobil thing or just in general. Family, friends and life/passion more important than work.
