Contractors as in Contract Agency/ Purchased Service employees or Contractors for building work?
To further complicate things, GM has already annouced their knowledge based workers will not be back in office until JUky, 2021 at the earliest. I imagine Ford will follow suit, so why not save a little cash and either slow or stop work on train station for 6 months or so..
All the smart companies are shifting to work from home and the dumb ones think people enjoy commuting to work just to sit at a computer wearing their headphones and trying not to get distracted by everyone elses conversations.
The train station is a green,feel good, oasis of a future that Bill believes in. Unfortunately it’s about 15 - 25 years too soon. Ford has offshored soo many Automotive jobs people can’t afford to buy their products. You would think an American family business would remember their past and keep jobs here. Henry Ford would have figured this out long ago. You have to make a product your workers can afford $65,000 truck I think not. Come back to reality Ford, all the safety devices, ultra high strength steel, and turbocharged 4, & 6 cylinder engines are not what the public wants or needs. Make Purchasing agents of the company stay in their respective commodity for 10 years, then let Cost Estimating do their job, and support them in their endeavors. The suppliers are in business to make $$ and a lot of it is too much. A good cost Estimator can save Ford millions per year,multiply this by 150 commodities and wow. Just thinking you might want to know Bill. Don’t listen to the LL4’s,&5 Ives listen to the LL6’s and GSR.
No, Bill has already said work on the Train Station will continue. Still believing, if we build it, they will come.
Are the contractors building the train station departing too or just the contractors who do the real engineering work while the young diversity hire poseur managers say cool phrases that the Jimmy's like to hear?
