VP Managers demoted in work responsibility to associate teams doing the SAME WORK AS ASSOCIATES No more No less while RETAINING their VP Manager Title and salaries? Should not the associates then be promoted to VP Managers since we are doing the SAME work?

Happens all the time in team culture survival of the fittest
VP announces back up when out of office is another associate on the team not giving the honor to the other 3 VP’s on team
Besides that, they also “award” you with more work if you work hard. I used to be very efficient and on top of everything on a certain function, but because of it, now everyone will reach out to me only when it is a three-man’s job....so that means the other two less efficient people will get less work. Moral of the story, don’t work too hard here
Is that a sign for future cuts, reorganized and demoting individuals?

Fyi...This happened Sept 1st in Corp Compliance AML in case u were wondering. Many VP and centralized case reviewers were reorg (demoted) are now doing the investigation just like an associate investigator while keeping there overinflated salary. Now u know...
Not surprised they moved person from VP job to analyst.
They motivate by dangling the VP title to overworked analysts in their last year of the Analyst program if the are working on a project that goes beyond their stay in the unit. They make the person feel they are the most important person on the program or project and if they stay Will be rewarded a VP title. Once they agree to stay they are put in management positions they have no experience with and are left to sink or swim. Please not these employees are usually very because smart, but lack experience because they are not trained to manage, not allowed to lead (discouraged from delegating without explicit approval to do some) take risks, Or know enough of the business to make strategic suggestions, or changes in groups they manage (remember they were specifically assigned as analysts on projects to manage, and never subject matter experts on the work.)
When management finds they can’t handle the job they have the “talk”. The “talk” is we really don’t want you to lose (fire) your job so we need you to step down from the role and keep doing what you did previously, though you still will be a VP. But they forget to tell you this will impact your raise and bonus while you are there.
Some, not all, of these new VPs think life at the bank is let’s go for a latte and talk it over while wearIng expensive designer clothes and accessories. They constantly network.
Associates think they are ready for VP responsibilities but are not . Some Associates pretend to work for months leaving lots of tasks undone and then think no one sees them.
At JP it's not about your tech skills . It's about not backstabbing your boss and being loyal . If you can't be loyal you won't see any promotion in this lifetime no matter how hard you think you're working .
As far as I have seen , there is no difference in work being done by a VP or Assoc in the same team, I dont know why its like this, and moreover it is so hard to get promoted from 602 to 603!
Which department did this occur in?
Yep, hiding out in the team life culture making the big bucks with the big title doing the associate work and WHO PAYS THE PRICE? The honest hard working top producer associate on the team who now has to deal with the cut throat competitive VP who wants to keep their job at all cost not to mention the quiet low producer on the team also hiding out.
Right, well connevted humans for sure, for instance, entails hunting or slaughtering the weaker or sick employees to reduce herd numbers st JP and gain from that!
Cull the herd
Ummm. pretty well articulated. I know many VPs that hidde behind Senior Associates.
Nothing is discussed in public, sort of a Publc relations consultant.
If you see Small teams of 3 or 4 They are in there hidding, as these team structure serve them well.
